It is located on the northeast side of the island of Žirje. It is the main port of the island and is used every day by boats journeying to and from the mainland. The port features a stone and concrete landing wharf with breakwater, 60 m in length.
A solar-powered beacon (Green flash, 3s, 6m, 2M, green) is located at the head of the wharf. Adjoining the said wharf is 200 m of concrete quayside with berths for boats and larger vessels.
Docking for public passenger boats.
Exceptionally, when the passenger boat is not docked, other boats and small crafts may berth for a limited period of time.
LANDMARKS: light on the above-water rock Brak Praščića - tower coloured black with a horizontal red band and topmark - two black spheres one above the other (isolated danger); ligh on E point -red tower with column and gallery; light on the pierhead - green tower with column and gallery;chapel at the head of the cove.
CURRENTS: tidal currents are predominant, at rates of up to 0.5 kn. Gale winds can increase the current rate to 1.0 kn.
ANCHORAGE: in the cove in depths of 9-12 m; sand, good holding.
BERTH: alongside either side of pier or to the inner side of an old breakwater (depths about 1.6 m); stern-to the quay between the old breakwater and the pier.
SUPPLIES AND FACILITIES: water in limited quantities; post office, surgery and shop in the village of Žirje (about 500 m uphill).
