The port is located in the northwest part of the Šibenik channel. It is protected from most winds, except from winds blowing from the west and southwest.
The port has: a 110 m long stone and concrete landing wharf with breakwater; a stone and concrete dock approaching the landing wharf with breakwater; an old stone and concrete breakwater, 105 m in length; concrete quayside with berths for boats, 405 m in length.
A solar-powered beacon (Red flash, 5s, 7m, 3M, red) is located at the head of the wharf.
Wharf with wave breaker (112 m) – has berths for powerboats, yachts and other boats and small crafts used for transportation of passengers and tourists.
Approaching dock (105 m – inner part of the dock) – has berths for powerboats, yachts and other boats used in passenger transport, mooring space for small fishing boats.
Approaching dock (105 m – outer part of the dock ) – has berths for passenger and tourist boats. Priority for mooring will be given to public passenger boats.
LANDMARKS: Hill Okit (133 m) surmounted by a small church; belfry in the town; high building of Hotel Punta W of the harbour; high stone monument shaped as torch N of the harbour entrance; long marina breakwater of boulders about 100 m E of the harbour entrance; light on the breakwater head - red tower with column and gallery.
WEATHER: exposed to the Bora and Scirocco which may blow with gale force.
CURRENTS: tidal currents are predominant, at rates of up to 0.6 kn. Gale winds can increase the current rate to 1.0 kn.
BERTH: alongside or stern-to the inner side of angled break-water; outer; W side of breakwater is used by ferry. In strong N and S winds berth in the marina is advised.
SUPPLIES AND FACILITIES: water and electricity on the breakwater; fuel station in the marina; post office, surgery, pharmacy, nautical equipment, hotels, tourist offices, banks and shops.
OFFICIALS: branch harbour office and police.
COMMUNICATIONS: road connections and shipping lines.
CAUTION: when entering, care is necessary to avoid the rocky shoal Vodice (1.3 m) about 180 m SE of the light on breakwater, marked by a spar beacon coloured black with a horizontal red band and topmark - two black spheres one above the other (isolated danger); at night the shoal is in the obscured sector of the light on the breakwater head. Outer part of the breakwater with protective wall is bordered by a shallow area.
